Les partenaires de conservation collaborent depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es dans le lieu prioritaire Wolastoq \/ fleuve Saint-Jean. L’initiative visant les lieux prioritaires est l’occasion d’adopter une d\u00e9marche plus cibl\u00e9e et\u00a0 collaborative pour transformer la fa\u00e7on dont nous proc\u00e9dons \u00e0 la conservation des esp\u00e8ces en p\u00e9ril pour obtenir de meilleurs r\u00e9sultats.\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0Les normes de conservation nous servent de cadre de gestion adaptative pour soutenir une action strat\u00e9gique mieux coordonn\u00e9e afin d’atteindre nos objectifs communs de conservation dans la r\u00e9gion de Wolastoq.<\/p>

Ce cadre soutient une approche bas\u00e9e sur l’\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me qui imbrique les esp\u00e8ces en p\u00e9ril et d’autres d’importance culturelle ainsi que des pr\u00e9occupations en termes de conservation dans les objectifs de conservation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Cibles de conservation\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Les cibles sont les valeurs, les caract\u00e9ristiques et les atouts qu\u2019on se doit de conserver dans le lieu prioritaire. Ce sont les endroits o\u00f9 nous voulons collaborer en adoptant une approche fond\u00e9e sur l’\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me. L’accent doit \u00eatre plac\u00e9 sur la mise en \u0153uvre. Comme de multiples priorit\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9es pour le lieu prioritaire Wolastoq \/ Fleuve Saint-Jean, le niveau d’attention et d’importance variera selon la cible.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

En raison de sa valeur culturelle intrins\u00e8que, de son habitat pour les esp\u00e8ces aquatiques (le saumon de l\u2019Atlantique) et du fait qu\u2019il constitue un \u00e9l\u00e9ment essentiel de tous les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes connexes, le fleuve Wolastoq \/ Saint-Jean est une cible de conservation cruciale. Il est donc inclus dans la liste des priorit\u00e9s ci-dessous. Il faut toutefois reconna\u00eetre que l’initiative des lieux prioritaires portera sur l\u2019impl\u00e9mentation de mesures de conservation en faveur des esp\u00e8ces terrestres en p\u00e9ril dans les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes des hautes terres et des zones riveraines, plut\u00f4t que concernant la conservation de milieux aquatiques.\u00a0<\/p>

La sant\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale du fleuve et des esp\u00e8ces aquatiques b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiera de ces mesures, et des liens seront tiss\u00e9s avec les organismes proposant des initiatives de conservation aquatique*.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
